Growing up in the suburbs shapes us into who we are. It gives us the room to discover our passions, friendships, love, and ourselves. But we need help expanding beyond where we come from. Dick’s Sporting Goods is the motor that expands your freedom and allows you to grow out.

GROW SOCIAL
We could offer you tips and tricks on how to run and grow a social media account but we are much more interested in actually giving you hands-on experience. We are giving the rights to our social media accounts to one of you. A kid from a small town who’s looking to grow out of their comfort zone. With a team of social media experts to assist you with any questions or roadblocks, we can give our biggest platform to help one of you grow out.

CAMP GROW OUT
Two things have faded with the past that we here at DSG have always loved, malls, and afterschool clubs. We are purchasing an abandoned mall in the suburbs and reviving it. With Dick’s Sporting Goods being our flagship store we are going to create a store layout that is more interactive and conducive to untapped fun. We will also feature different programs from Kumon to SAT prep courses that can operate from other storefronts. We are focused on making sure the small-town kids get the resources and tools to help them grow out too.

GROW CODERS
We need help, and who better to ask than the future generation. We are asking future leaders to help us create our very first AI chatbot for the Dick’s Sporting Goods website. We have always believed that supporting the next generation in growing is what we are made for. Open to anyone nationwide, we are holding an in-person competition for young coders to try their hand at the big leagues. Over three 12-hour days, coders will gather in Boston for the “Codeathon.“ The winners will be announced at the end of the weekend. Shortly after, the chatbot will be posted to go live on our website. The Chatbot will be named after the creator and will live on our site for years to come.

GROW STYLE
At select Dick’s Sporting Goods locations we will have a screen printing station. You will be able to buy DSG clothing and use the screen printer in-store to create a unique and personal design. We have always loved the symbolic duality of screen printing and this is an interactive way to educate kids on the garment industry and what goes into making something special.

GROW OUT AND VOTE
One of the most important privileges we gain as adults is the ability to vote. We are partnering with Vote.org to educate the next generation on voting rights and local election importance. With every DSG order, a card with a QR code will take you to easy registration links for your state. Along with social media-esq profiles on the local and state politicians platforms. The hardest part of voting is being informed on how to vote. We believe in the power of a community and know the next generation can shape it.
